well now
Michelins (like all tires) are considered 100% consumed/used when the tread wear bars
show (2/32 in)
so now it depends upon the Original tread depth of a new tire
from a Michelin Truck/Off Road Data book
"A large amount of the Mileage Performance of a truck tire is obtained when between 2/32 & 4/32 of design tread depth remains"
I would not worry about the tread as much as the age of the tire - Most Michelins have a life of 6 years from date of MFGR (week and year are on the sidewall) and not the inservice date - use them, don't use them it does not make any difference after 6 years they should be removed from service - but check with your local michelin truck tire dealer.
all 9 michelins on our motor home had to be replaced (prorated adjustment) about 20% wear
even replaced the spare which had on spent 6years in a bin under the coach and still had its label
