Insert the cable end into the hole, there should also be a set screw to help hold the cable in place. It is important to feed the cable onto the drum properly so it reels off the bottom or top of the drum depending on the winch model. Most of the LU4 and MU2 on Dodge military trucks feed off the bottom, under the drum. Also highly recommended to keep at least 5 wraps of cable around the drum, for those times when you need every bit of cable. Hope this helps.
