After our discussiion the other night about the noise in 3rd and 4th gear, I think I found out where the noise is coming from. The Jack shaft between the transmission and transfer case is not running true. I disconnected the rear drive line and started it up and I could feel increasing vibrations as the shaft spun faster. I also could visibly see the shaft vibrating when I got under the truck. I have it out and I am taking it to the driveline shop to have it checked out. I do not know if it just needs to be balanced or possibly rebuilt. The U joints appear to be tight with no slop in them. I suspect the shop will have me replace them just on the principle of it and they will make more money as usual. But they are they only shop around who can do the work. I looked all over when I had the rear driveline shortened. It may be that I will also need to reduce the driveline angle somewhat as I dropped the transfer case 2" to make room for the e-brake drum. If I have to raise it back up I will wait until I get my disc brakes from Ray. This will leave me without an e-brake. Do you happen to have an e-brake setup that fits onto the back side of the SM420 or maybe I will put a Microlock in along with the disk brakes.

Is you email back up yet?
