When I put the nuts back on my 37 manifold I used the selflocking nuts that hold down the valve rockers on a 350 (305,307,etc) chevy,these are the same size (3/8x24nf)and they don't come loose. I bought them off the shelf at the local auto parts store($9.00 for a box of 16). Just in case your interested.
