I paid $650.00 for a clunker. Fixed it up and did a 90% restoration on it. Was a 1947 WDX.
I put over $7000 into parts alone. I don't count my labor. Biggest single expense was the engine overhaul. Cost$2000. Ran beautifully. I sold it for $5500. It was a frame off restoration. Why did I sell it at that price. Needed the money and found a buyer.
I think yours is over priced. Too many out there as good as if not better for less than $3,000. Keep looking.
