I agree it's sad that organizations always seem to break down into cliques and such. I had the same experience in a knife collector's club, an antique kerosene lamp collector's club, and now as a fairly new member of the MVPA, I see the same thing happening. What a shame it is that those who are "experts" with much greater knowledge than most of us are unwilling to share it. The old saying "Knowledge is Power" is so true and some folks are just afraid to let it go. Fortunately, on this site and on the M-37 page, I have found many people who are willing to help me with my many problems and I have tried to do the same when something is posted I have experience with. I hope it stays that way and we can get on with our hobby of keeping the old trucks rolling.
