More than likely your going to get several responses of the type "it's worth what someone is willing to pay". While true, that rational is simplistic and forego's the use of market analysis to determine what is a reasonable range of values for a particular item. The argument is usually enployed by those individuals who don't want to be told that their property is worth less that they believe it to be. Trying to persuade them differently is akin to telling someone his wife is ugly. So let's not start that argument.

I know of the truck that you are talking about. However my impression of its condition is different from yours. As for rust, when you were riding in the cab did you notice your ability to see the pavement through the floor and the smell of exhaust? Those aluminum plates aren't OEM, they are there to keep your feet from poking though like Barney Rubble. Also while the tires may be new to the truck, they are not new, unless new to you means has several thousand miles on them. That and none of the gauges are working, I asked but din't get an anwser if they were broke or if the wiring was bad.

The next time you get a chance take another look underneath - All that fresh oil and grease has to be coming from somewhere.

Now here's where I'm really going to get some heat.

So, how would I rate it's condition using the five point scale that is usually used on classic vehicles? No more than a three. Is it worth the seven grand that he's asking? Quite frankly, no.
For less money than the amount you would spend buying and then (blasting, painting, rebuilding, etc..) you can buy one that is already finished.

That is my opinion, others will have theirs. It is my sincere hope they respect mine as I respect
theirs and indeed I look forward to reading them. Let's however not indulge in any personal attacks.
