I remember my father made one years ago that was ingenious. He planted four 4x4 post in the ground in a square just far enough to drive between and drilled a one inch hole in the tops about four inches above the level of the top rail on the pickup bed. He slid a one inch piece of pipe through the hole. He would drive the truck between the posts, loosen the topper lift up each corner slide the pipe throught the post hole and under the bottom of the topper and drive out.
