I did it on my 46WDX. You need to cut off the flange & weld approximately 1.5" to the edge of the fender. You really need an English wheel to properly shape the fender once you're done. The top of a First Series fender is round...not flat. Only the 1.5" edge where the bolts go through is flat...know what I mean?
It's a lot of work. I recommend finding a set of First Series fenders...they are out there if you look hard...unless Randy Baker has them all! :)
