Painting the chassis

I still have some parts to finish taking off the frame. I have already cleaned off some brackets and would like to get them painted. My plan was to paint them with POR-15 base then top coat them with chassis coat black. (Is it necessary to use a POR-15 Base?) I was looking at the SATA Mini Jet 4. http://autobodystore.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=SATMJ4&Category_Code=3S Will this gun be able to shoot POR-15?
