I think guys are comparing apples to oranges here. It seems to me that if your old truck has a value similar to a new one, the insurance should be the same.
If a truck is a show car; little driving, locked up at night, etc. go with the show car insurers, it's cheap; you get what you pay for, which does not include everyday use. If you have little money into an old truck, self insure the value and buy liability only. Of course, if you wreck it, can it be easily and as cheaply replaced?
