Yes, I got this Zentmyer interchange manual.. I makes no mention of this.. Thanks for the insight!!

I see what could be happening, as you say.. They could indeed be longer shafts as used in the 8-5/8" R&P application for earlier 3/4 tons. Makes sense.

Now, Fred, with this modification of grinding off 1/32" under consideration, do you think that this will help? I mean, if its bottoming out on the shaft length,yes, but what if the splined area itself isnt long enough and thats whats bottoming out?
