Dont worry about initial timing on that engine. Set it for total and go from there. Be sure to turn the RPMS up to 2500+ rpms and then set the timing to 38 total and go from there. If it still pings do it again and go to 36 and so on from there. You will want all the advance you can get. That little 340 in the demon will be hot!
