Would a 12V Starter Motor

power up a York or RV-2 AC Compressor ? Could you do a direct drive? I am looking at options for my M-37. The Cummins use a serpentine belt so mounting the compressor belt driven would take some doing.
I was thinking about mounting it up in the frame rails with the starter motor powering it. I realize one best have the engine running to keep the Bat up while making air, but airing tires and other ancillary tasks, the compressor wont run long periods. Trying to Keep It Simple
