David, The M35A3's are using a Caterpillar engine with an Allison automatic, the air engaged front wheel drive type transfer, and yes, they do have the CTIS. I have had the chance to drive one a few times and with those nice big 14.50 X 20 Micheline radials, they ride nice. The steering though does leave something to be desired. They are using a steering ASSIST system, not the power steering system that 5 tons use. All it is is a cylinder attached to the tie rod that assists with steering once the driver has initiated the steering effort. What does take a while to get used to is not having a clutch. I went through the same thing when the Army came out with the 939 series 5 tons. Robert
