I can't help you with a "Cummings", but I can help with a "Cummins" swap... Engine crank is the same for both versions, but an engine with a manual transmission uses a flywheel and one with a auto uses a flexplate. I'd put the Cummins into the w300 as the new setup will be heavier than the current engine...

Easiest setup is to go with the Dodge truck version with a NV4500 since you can snag the complete package out of a donor truck. If you had fitment problems with the starter (is sticks way out from the block on the driver's side) or if you had a good donor engine without the rest, then consider using a ZF transmission combination such as the S5-42 or S5-47 as used in the Ford Heavy Duty F250/350 offerings. For the adapter to mate the Ford transmission up to the Cummins (uses the Dodge starter but relocates it to the passenger side, Dodge flywheel and early clutch from the Getrag years...) go to www.fordcummins.com and talk to Roger.

Your conversion will be similar to that using a 4BT/BTA in a M37 or Carryall, but will have a longer engine. Both my website and Paul's would be useful for you even though the trucks featured are a M37 and a Carryall respectively...

Good luck.
