If you do it right it can allways be converted back to original again since you are missing a lot of parts. Or you could spend some big bucks if you have them and re/do it original. Sorta your call and what you are intending to do with it. I converted mine to 12 volt but kept the original dist, plugs and wires just mounted a regular 12 volt coil outside of the housing. It is still pretty water proof unless your intending on going in water deeper than 30 inches or so. Course realy don't intend to ford deep rivers or lakes with mine do to the mess after words draining every thing. I don't have the fording intake pipe and all the other fording stuff needed to drive in water up to 5 ft plus but I can spray my engine with a garden hose and it will still run and go thru deep water also. Just around 30 inches the waves and fan blowing water all over the place it would probley get it in the air cleaner. Mark H.
