Here's one for you...I am in the process of rebuilding a motor for my WDX. I am using an array of parts from Dodges from 41-47. I am using a Ball & Ball Carter Carb out of a 1/2 ton WC, since the carb on the M37 motor in the truck was something I have never seen (non military carb). Here is my question... In order to use this carb I have to first put on a spacer on the intake that spins the carb 90 degrees so the linkage lines up. Then with the governor next and then the carb, the air cleaner is like 16" above the motor, do i have to use the governor as a spacer if I was not going to hook it up anyway? I thought I read somewhere it acted like a spacer and you needed it in there. can I just pull it out or do I need to leave it in.
