The only difference is the fuel guage and light bulbs. I would keep the 12 volt generator. I have one on my truck and am very happy with it. Mine is off of an old Chrysler powered forklift. 12 volt 55 amp. I run a 12 to 6 volt reducer on the fuel guage.
