Put them on and don't take them off. All of this, it is time to put on the protection now, is what is killing you. If you wear glasses, you need to be wearing your prescription safety glasses. If you don't wear glasses, you put on your plano safety glasses and wear them. All the damn time..... meaning ALL.
If you are going to do something like run a bench grinder or weld grinder, then put a plastic face shield on over the glasses, but always the glasses, even when you are drinking Pepsi or picking your nose.
