Tim I know I have done the same things but I know better too. I was once cutting something with a torch and it popped back at me and embedded spatter in my glasses which ruined them. I'm with you on goggles, they are always fogging up plus a pain to wear with glasses. I've been wearing glasses since 1966 and have thought about lasic surgery but haven't gained full confidence on that yet. I use a full face shield when cutting and not as often as I should when grinding but I think I will work on that now. You are truely fortunate that it hasn't been more serious up till now and I thank you for bringing up shop saftey. We sometimes think we are bulletproof and it always happens to the "other guy".
