Hi Greg,
Cool looking truck. I guess part of your decision should have t do with what you are going to do with the truck after you restore it. If you are going to trailer it around to shows, I would leave the boom on and restore it too. If you are going to take it on trail rides or try to haul anything with it, it would be a hinderance.
