It is in a 1969 IHC crewcab 4x4 pickup. 7842 Alpine head unit driving 4 6" Pioneer speakers. No amp, no crossovers. No adapter, obviously. The wiring harness has a ground wire in it, do I need to ground the radio chassis also? It is mounted in a metal dash, but you know how grounds can be. I do have the wiring harness ground wire grounded well. I think I have a short to ground in a speaker wire, the speakers are in the doors and have been for about a year. I just now got around to installing the radio. When I redid the interior I ran the wires and installed the speakers. Thanks for the help, I will let you know what I find.
