If both the engins and chassis aren't grounded the electrons find another path. Frinstance, on floor shifting automatics it can fry your shift cable. Or maybe grounding through the suspension will eat u-joints? Or from radiator, through coolant, causing electrolysis of freeze plugs? On other cars, body electrics can behave erraticaly. Especially electronics. Regulators, especially on later Dodges, need grounding to block. Neg batt cable should go to block, starter is biggest load. Then body and frame should be connected to block.
