Norm's bias always shows when this question comes up and I will agree with him handsdown. I have had LA318's in cars and trucks but until I got my 64 TW I didn't really know the potential of a poly 318. I rebuilt mine last year which was done by my local Napa machine shop. Parts are not a problem unless you need to overbore more that.060 because of finding pistons larger than this. My 318 runs great and I would not have a problem putting one in a daily driver. The low end torque comes in right from the start so whatever your load would not be a problem. Good luck and go poly.
