With all the talk about "character trucks" I thought it appropriate to post this photo of my truck. It took me 15 years to get it from the former owner. Its a '47 but was repowered with a 251 and power steering over 40 years ago by the former owners father who passed away behind the wheel of this truck in 1969. It's been repainted at least once. I won't restore this truck. I'll just preserve it. I've rubbed the whole thing down with linseed oil to retard any further rusting. I took off the new old stock dualamatic locking hubs because they looked too new. I did, however, build a new flatbed in the style of a farm bed using salvaged parts and got the seat redone as it was real uncomfortable to sit on steel springs! I'll save this truck for the next generation to restore.
