The block and head are clean and smooth with no pitting or burrs. I'll have a machine shop check the head for warpage while I have it off. The 251 has no studs, only bolts, which are all in good shape. By the way, it looks like the engine was rebuilt at some point in the past using the original pistons. A few are punch-marked with number of cylinder, but none are stamped oversize.
