Kaegi,
After looking at the frame again, I gave you some bad dimensions. The crossmember is the large riveted piece that goes between the right and left frame structure and is curved upward towards the bottom of the bed about 2 ft back-right? The metal I am talking about is actually about 6 inches back from the front of the bed. It looks like a piece of frame slightly smaller that is inserted on the inside of each side of the frame to form a box about 18 inches long. It is riveted in place with one rivet near the back of the piece. They are identical on the left and right side and form a box that the wires etc run through-[]. It doesnt appear to be an addition post factory because the rivet is identical to other frame rivets. It looks like a reinforcement piece where the cradle of the wrecker arm would add additional stress to the frame. I dont have a digital camera so I cant post pix. anyone else have this or know if it is common to all FFPW's
Thanks
John
