The oil flow through these engines is such that you don't lose (much) oil pressure if the rod bearings go - worn mains are much more likely.

In your position I'd plan on laying it up, pulling the sump, checking and changing all the meain bearings and checking the rod bearings as well.

It's just vital to do this before you get any knock developing cause then the crank is damaged.

If the rear main bearing is very worn, and / or the rearmost rod bearing, then you might have poor oil flow down the crank too, and it really should get flushed through and not just new bearings.

But then, I'm just a foreigner 8~)
