It doesn't even have to be expensive...I'm not sure how much it costs retail but good marine epoxy we pay $28 Canadian/gallon.
I prefer Endura which costs $120 Canadian/gallon but neither is particularly expensive compared to PPG, Dupont or the big auto coating companies charge.
Find the paint rep in your area for either International paint or Hempel.
These coatings are designed to last in the salt water for up to 10 years...I think they'll stand a little road salt & mud!
