We have a Lanair in the farm shop. High cost to buy, need a good air compressor to run it. Needs to be taken apart once or twice a year to clean the ash out. Needs a new nozzle and flame rods about once a year.

If you look at a used one, be carful and only buy a newer one with solid state electronics.

It is very loud because of the blade style fan. We may bolt on a cage fan sometime to help. If it runs alot, the air compressor runs alot also.

But if you have a bunch of oil to burn it works great. It helps to have your oil tank inside so it is warm.

It sounds like you could handle the fixing fine, being a truck shop. One BIG word of advice from the Lanair repairman: Only ONE person be responsible for tweaking on the controls and adjustments. When adjustments other than the thermostat are made, only one guy should be in charge!

Hope this helps, Troy.
