I know that there are a lot of different opinions on chassis paint, but I am a fan of POR 15. It is exceptionally chip resistnant and for any truck that is going to spend time on the road, I think that it is a good choice. I do like powder coating, but do not think that it belongs on the chassis of a truck. Because of its high hardness, it chips very easy and is not repairable. I have a powdercoated wakeboard tower on my boat and even in this gravy application it is starting to show deterioration after only one season. All of the high dollar primers are good, but POR 15 is a good choice for the budget conscious. We have always applied it on to sandblasted metal, so I am not sure about appling it over rusty metal.

Just my two cents,
Dan
