If a winch truck has it's winch engaged and the cable wound tight, it binds the drive train. Engine will run, but stall when clutch released. Front wheels roll when 4x is disengaged. But most likely , you have frozen wheel cylinders in rears. opening the bleeders will usually get it loaded onto the flatbed.
