Hi all, this is a query on behalf of a friend who has a 1947 ex-Danish military power wagon. He is running the WM300 6cl engine, recently rebuilt. It has an old simple mechanical oil pressure guage which we've checked and seems to be in perfect working order. Here's the problem. When the engine idles the guage reads about 3bar, when the engine is revved it drops streight to zero. If we turn the little regulator plunger around so that the recessed side face outwards the idle pressure is zero but on acceleration the pressure comes up to about 4bar where it's supposed to be. Can anyone offer any ideas as to why this happens. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
