After 25+ years of heavy duty towing and recovery, I still insist on fibre core wire rope. At least if you do break it and there is no projectile attached, it will recoil as it loses tension, unlike steel or metal core rope that unleashes a larger amount of straight stretch. Needless to say, extreme thought, patience and care when rigging for the pull will make the most difference when you start the job. Use the correctly rated parts and still treat them as inferior! This is how I have done it for many years and nevr broke anything except when I was not paying attention or did not regard condition of the equipment before use! (I have done that twice! Lucky to be alove now!) Take care and be carefull!!!!!
