On the W300 it should be on the transfer case, the correct PTO is a model FTD-7 (origianlly made by Arrow Gear Co, then by Braden later on) it is a 10 bolt mounting. This set-up allows you to use the forward 4 gears in the transmission to vary the wind in speed, and reverse to unwind the winch. Only the WDX-WM type 300s have a two direction PTO on the trans. If you have a 69-71 with the 205 transfer case then the PTO is a Chelsea type with cable control that fits on the transfer case with the same shifting results.
