"Camper Special" Donor to P.W.?

A '68 Dodge "Camper Special" is for sale locally and the price is really low as the owner only bought it to put a large camper on it to get the camper out of his yard! He said it is 3/4 ton and 4-speed, but doesn't know what engine is in it. Would the engine/trans assy. be a good v8 to use in a FFPW? Would it have 318 poly? I have no use for the camper or the truck other than the drive components. Would in turn sell the rest of the stuff cheap. Sorry for the long post. Steve
