Yes! It's true! I took the 52 M37 (Of Moab, Ouray, and Idaho fame) out with Digger and the boys today to see how far we could get in the fresh snow...I was breaking trail in snow over the front bumber for about 2 miles up hill...and after many stops and re-runs ahead, I finally got her buried, so Dusty was behind me and pulled me out and off I went again..except for this feeble 'knock' when I floated the throttle! I then noticed my oil pressure was not the normal 40-45lbs but was 18-20 lbs!! Well, I got the truck turned around, four of the other five pressed on and Digger followed me the 37 miles back home!
I managed not to scatter the engine! In fact as long as I lugged it or went on compression, the knock was not too bad!! Oh well! That dependable truck got me home!! Now I have a good excuse to pull the engine, re-do the bearings and get the nasty 14" water jacket crack in the block stitched!! So gents...I may be bringing the 6x6 back to Moab!! We'll see!!
