Could you elaborate on which connector/pin the "B+" is and I don't understand jumpering it to the "field"... Do you mean the ground? (Sorry, I hate to sound stupid.)

And yes, I think it was a radio truck. The Generator is huge, reaching all the way back to the distributor with four v-belts driving the beast. In addition to the rectifier on the cowl there is another device mounted in front of the radiator, which I assume is located there for heat dissipation. As far as wiring between the generator, rectifier, and the "device", there is the large 1" diameter steel braded cable between the generator and rectifier, with another 1" diameter cable between the rectifier and the "device" in front of the radiator. If I remember correctly, there are 3 or 4 pins/wires in each 1" cable.
