Are you trying to pull the motor away from the bellhousing? I had a similar problem with my truck except that it is a 360/np435. Turns out the flywheel would not clear the bellhousing. I had to leave the bellhousing on the motor and unbolt the transmission. I'm not familar with the 225 so maybe this is not a problem for you but it sure caused me to loose my religeon for a few hours. hope this helps.
