Ram vent window question

I got new vent window seals for my '84 Power Ram. The new seals don't make any better contact with the glass than the old ones. It looks like a poor design. The speed limit was 55 when these truck were built. The vent windows hiss loudly at 75 mph.

I see the part number changed after '86. Could it be that the '87-'93 vent windows have a better design? I'm interested in swapping the entire vent window assembly if the newer ones are better. Any advice on whether this is a good idea? Or where I might find some affordable vent window assemblies with decent rubber?
