The correct spelling is MICO. (Mankato Industrial Company)

See www.MICO.com

They make various hydraulic brake and control products.

The most commonly-known product is a family of gadgets that allow the operator of a work truck, such as wreckers, utility trucks, etc, to apply the (hydraulic) service brakes and keep them applied during work operations.

The method of locking the brakes is the same, regardless of the operating technique. A control is mechanically inserted into the main brake line, between the MC and the wheels.

Some MICO brake locks use a manual check valve, activated by a lever handle, and some use an electric solenoid to check the fluid. In the case of the electric ones, pressure on the brake pedal releases the check valve.

They are still made, but the newer models are not as simple and cool-looking as the old models. The NOS ones can be found on E-Pay quite often, but fetch a high amount.

Next question?
