We have received a great deal of technical help from the German and Japanese governments in the form of technical equipment and personel, but none from the US as yet. The Thai government is refusing all monetary donations from other countries suggesting that they send that money to countries who have a greater need. The Thai people and Thai business have to date donated $20 million dollars as well as mountains of goods to the people in the disaster area. The problem some of you are having is that your information about both the US and Thailand is 30 years out of date. Thailand is running a large budget surplus were as the US is currently $4 trillion in debt and the dollar has fallen 30% in value over the last 2 years.
