I have found a place that has rebuilt Chryler long block 230 cid engines but have received no reply as of yet to my question. There is a note that says "all except military standard flathead". They have two year ranges, 1946 - 1954 and 1955 - 1959. Did Chrysler make anything other than flathead sixes (no OHV) during those years? Would save on time and headaches for only $980 bucks if they are the same or close enough. Went to the W.P. Chrysler Museum and checked out thier list of engines they made and the first showing of an OHV six engine shows up in 1960. Also shows that Dodge and Plymouth are the ones to use the 230 cid flatheads.
