Have you tried using the little plug on top of #6 to check for exact tdc? (I haven't checked to see if any of my m37 engines have this plug, do they? I know that the other flathead engines do). And then set the shaft on your dist. where you want it and then set your shaft on the oil pump to line up with it, then stick the oil pump and then the dist. Or is this just what you have been doing??
