The bigger blocks have a shorter stroke, thereby running with a power band more similar to a modern engine. The carry-all I had ran very smooth, very smooth power application. And maybe you can bore the 251 to 265?...
But you'll have to decide for yourself if you want to 'desecrate' an antique, or 'customize' a driver....
