Gentlemen, I thought I might have overstepped the bounds on the last Forum. I got carried away with what I believe in, and thought it was maybe inappropriate to this Forum.
But, this Forum IS ITS MEMBERS. Therefore, seeing the general flavor of thought posted above I am heartened that all is not lost! And, as a matter of fact, I WANT TO BE CARRIED AWAY WITH WHAT I BELEIVE IN! Why? Because I truly do believe it, to the death.
I don't happen to agree with the anti-seatbelt law attitude. There's a very great deal more involved of course but I won't express my views here because there is a more important issue. What I do loudly and vehemently agree with is your standing up and stating and expressing what you do believe!
I agree with FREEDOM! I do far more respect a man that fervently believes in what he claims to believe in, even if I disagree with Him. I prefer his company to a man who doesn't know what to believe 'cause he's too blasted lazy and irresponsibile and unaccountable to himself and the world to bother to decide, or to back it up with his life!
You back it up with your life when the barrel's pointed straight at you, with the hammer back, and you look them right straight in the eye and say, "Go ahead: but it ain't gonna change my mind, pal..." You also back it up with your life when you lay your head down at night on your belief, and sleep on it, and awake to it, and are just as sure of it in the morning to carry you through the day.
A man will toss and turn and thrash all night who lays his head on a homemade lie. He'll never have true peace in his heart or meaning in his life. The man who lays his head and heart and mind on Truth, and Justice, and Freedom will be a man at peace above all others even in the midst of turmoil.
Why? Because we KNOW IT'S RIGHT! It has become the fashion of late that the 'J' word is nearly as unacceptable in media and print as the 'F' word. I am greatly encouraged to see men willing to proclaim what they believe. I see the glaring comparison to the emptiness and hollow lack of substance of those who never got around to hard thoughts of just what to believe, if anything.
I do not insist that anyone else be Christian, or American, or a Dodge lover or anything in particular: as long as it is morally and ethically acceptable in polite society.
I do absolutely insist, though, on your RIGHT TO BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN! Why? Because this is AMERICA, and that is what we are founded upon, and it is right and true.
Interesting that these old Dodge Power Wagons were one of the foremost tools in defending those RIGHTS of FREEDOM, and in carrying the concepts and values of the greatest nation on earth virtually all around the globe! Power Wagons waged the fight for Freedom for 50 years or more, and they still roll down the roads of the world, and it seems like nothing can stop them.
Nothing can, as long as we BELIEVE in the values that built them!
