Driver's side block has engine size just below head in top right corner or middle between freeze plug holes. The engine size is cast into the block with numbers at least 0.75" tall.

How goes the engine swap? Not much on my end. I did see some great ideas on PWA formum for M37 - check under "318" by Salem. You will like his method of swapping a v8 into the PW cleanly.
