Progress report...V8&auto in a PW....

Got the 318/727(short tailshaft) installed in the trailtruck. With both yokes(tranny & T/C) installed I've got apx. 7.25 inches from center to center on the u-joints between them. The only option I see is a REALLY short driveshaft with two u-joints that will have no slip, read solid. So to answer the question...yes it can be done. I used the original crossmember from the tranny donar truck(mid 70"s PW) cut down on each end to fit between the frame rails to mount the tranny and built my own motor mounts. Now it's time to get the driveshaft built and start on the brakes.
