...that's the whole point Lube. ATF is highly detergent, perfect for flushing out crud and cleaning cylinder walls. Carefully re-read my post, you run ATF for a very short period, then a 50%-50% mix for a little longer the next time, then 100% high deteregent oil, for a longer time, changing the filter every time, all with-in a 30 minute span, keeping the block warm as you go. The whole point is to losen up the junk that you do not want clogging passages WHEN you are driving. There sholdn't be particles larger than the passages, if there are, then you are WAY past this type of reconditioning and need to tear down the motor and over haul it. This proceedure is for motors that were "running good when parked", not for motors with trees growing out of the carburator. I didn't post the entire process out of laziness, since I have posted this sequence more than a few times. I should remember that not everyone may have read my past posts.....
Finally, the fourth time, fill with your desired permanent oil and filter. At the time this is being performed, you should be also using a radiator flush as well.
